WHEELIN’ INTO FALL ...

David Lee works for Transportation and Parking Services getting license and registration information for freshman Alexis Norausky's bike. As part of Fall Welcome Week, a bike registration drive was hosted on the north side of Hoagland Hall and at the TAPS office. All bikes operated on campus must have a current California bicycle license, and about 2,200 bikes were expected to be registered this week. Students and employees who don't have a bike but would like one can take advantage of the semi-annual bicycle auction at 91¿´Æ¬ Davis Saturday, Oct. 9. The bikes, unclaimed or abandoned on campus, are of many sizes, types and conditions, and the average selling price will probably be $20 to $30. Cash or checks with identification will be accepted as payment, and bicycles may be licensed at the sale. The auction will start at 9 a.m., and the bikes will be available for viewing from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Rain or shine, the auction will take place behind the office of Transportation and Parking Services on Extension Center Drive.
