Admission to university as a community college transfer is a cost-effective way to earn your bachelor's degree. A successful transfer requires thoughtful research and a plan to make sure you're ready for the rigors of upper-division studies at a top-tier university. 91¿´Æ¬ Davis and the 91¿´Æ¬ offer several resources to help you position yourself for admission to a 91¿´Æ¬ campus.

Transfer Admission Guarantee, or TAG 

91¿´Æ¬ Davis TAG assures your admission to 91¿´Æ¬ Davis, one year before your planned enrollment. As a California community college student, you use the 91¿´Æ¬ TAP to apply for a 91¿´Æ¬ Davis TAG in September, the fall before you plan to enroll at 91¿´Æ¬ Davis.

Transfer Opportunity Program, or TOP 

TOP is an advising program that puts a committed 91¿´Æ¬ Davis Undergraduate Admissions advisor on select California community college campuses to help you with career and transfer planning.

91¿´Æ¬ Transfer Pathways

The 91¿´Æ¬'s roadmap helps you prepare for any of the university’s most popular majors. It standardizes all the preparatory coursework required by all 91¿´Æ¬ campuses.

ASSIST and transferable coursework 

Identify which California community college courses transfer or fulfill requirements for admission, general education or your major with the website. This is the official articulation database for California's public colleges and universities.

Get an idea of which courses are transferable to 91¿´Æ¬, if you attend a college outside the California Community College system. Compare your college’s course descriptions to similar courses at 91¿´Æ¬ Davis or another 91¿´Æ¬ campus. There's a good chance the coursework is 91¿´Æ¬-transferable, if the course descriptions are similar.

Evaluations completed during the admissions process are used only for admission decisions. Final course evaluations and transfer credit determinations are completed by the relevant 91¿´Æ¬ Davis department after you enroll. We might ask you to submit course syllabi for review.

Select a general education pattern 

Your selection of a general education, or GE, pattern is an important decision required for graduation and one that guarantees a well-rounded education. Choose an option below:

Keep in mind that completion of a general education pattern is required for graduation not required for admission.

IGETC is available to students who transfer from a California Community College and allows them to complete the 91¿´Æ¬ or California State University general education requirements. Students who choose the IGETC pattern should complete it at their California community college. Students successfully admitted to 91¿´Æ¬ Davis should submit a certificate of IGETC completion to 91¿´Æ¬ Davis Undergraduate Admissions before they enroll.

The 91¿´Æ¬ Davis GE pattern is required for transfer students from institutions other than California community colleges and those who do not choose to complete the IGETC pattern. This pattern is best for students who apply to majors with a high number of lower-division requirements.
