To celebrate the 91Ƭ Davis Centennial, the community is invited to create videos for the “I Got Aggied” competition that celebrates attributes of 91Ƭ Davis.
Deadline for entering the contest is Feb. 26; judging will take place from noon Feb. 27 through March 16; and winners will be announced the week of March 16. Videos can be uploaded Feb. 4-26 at , where contest rules and other information can be found.
Anyone can enter the contest, and prizes will be awarded in two categories. In the “People’s Choice” category, an iPod touch will go to the video that gets the most votes online. Entrants are encouraged to have their family and friends vote for their videos.
In addition, a first and second-place prize will go to the top 91Ƭ Davis undergraduate student entries, judged by a panel of campus judges. The first place winner will get a Kodak Zi6 HD Pocket Video Camera, and the second place winner a $100 Woodstock’s Pizza gift certificate.
Videographers are asked to show in 30 seconds how they “got Aggied,” using any of the following prompts:
- How do you “sport” your Aggie pride?
- Re-create for viewers the moment you knew you were an Aggie.
- Show viewers what inspires your Aggie Pride.
- Show us your alternative Aggie.
- How are you an Aggie for life?
Entries must:
- Be 30 seconds or less
- Follow the 91Ƭ Davis Principles of Community (found at )
- Be submitted in 480x320 format
- Have copyright permission for music or images that are not original
- Have a maximum file size of 1GB
- Use one of these formats: .wmv, .avi, .mov, .mpg
91Ƭ Davis’ first official video contest is sponsored by the 91Ƭ Davis Centennial, 91Ƭ Davis Student Affairs and 91Ƭ Davis University Communications.
“This contest is a way for 91Ƭ Davis to promote the increasingly important medium of video as a new ‘literacy’ that our students are learning,” said Susanne Rockwell, Web editor for University Communications who is running the contest.
