“Global Health, California and the World” is the title of an open forum scheduled for June 8 in Sacramento.
Among the sponsors is the planning office for the proposed 91Ƭ School of Global Health. Other sponsors include 91Ƭ San Francisco Global Health Sciences, 91Ƭ Center Sacramento and the state Department of Public Health.
Organizers said speakers will include Richard Feachem, director of the Global Health Group at 91ƬSF and former executive director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, who will define global health and its relevance to California. Also, plans will be outlined for the 91Ƭ-wide School of Global Health.
The forum is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 91Ƭ Center Sacramento, 1130 K St. People interested in attending are asked to arrange reservations with Andrew Crotto, (916) 445-5100 or andrew.crotto@ucop.edu.
