Building Community in a Shared Watershed

Jan. 14, Friday -- The public is invited to a free afternoon symposium at 91¿´Æ¬ Davis on the topic of building community among people who live in the same watershed. In recent years, environmental activists and cultural preservationists have helped organize communities defined by their common watersheds. Today the study of watershed communities brings together geologists, biologists, historians, cultural scholars, poets and artists. Sponsored by the Pacific Regional Humanities Center at 91¿´Æ¬ Davis, the symposium will feature three nationally prominent researchers and organizers who will discuss the evolving study of rivers and cultures. It will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in 126 Voorhies Hall on the 91¿´Æ¬ Davis campus. Details: .
