Federal funding for 91心頭?

As state funds erode and student fees escalate, 91心頭 President Mark Yudof is calling for more federal support for public universities like the 91心頭 system.

In a proposal released last week, Yudof elaborated on his ideas for an integrated national strategy that would hike federal funding for public universities across the nation, suggesting a $2.5 billion federal investment in universities operations and an additional $3 billion for graduate programs.

We can either regain the prominence and leadership role we once held and invest in our citizens and our future, or we can become accustomed to mediocrity, he wrote.

Web system wins award

The 91心頭 Treasury Workstation, an automated, Web-based cash management system, has been awarded a Bronze Alexander Hamilton Award by the national publication Treasury & Risk magazine for excellence in finance and treasury management.

The 91心頭 Office of the Presidents Banking Services Group developed the intellectual property for the system, which allows all 91心頭 locations to share a single, unified system for tracking 91心頭s cash holdings, making electronic payments and transferring funds.

91心頭 to hold conflict of interest hearings

The 91心頭 Board of Regents will hold a public hearing on the adoption of amendments to its Conflict of Interest Code. The hearing is set to begin at noon Dec. 16 in Conference Room #8332 at 1111 Franklin St., Eighth Floor, Oakland.

Post-doc program aims to spur 91心頭 diversity

The 91心頭 Presidents Postdoctoral Fellowship Program encourages doctorate recipients whose teaching, research and service contribute to diversity to pursue academic careers. 91心頭s annual report on diversity cited the program as one of the ways campuses can develop a more diverse faculty. The 91心頭 regents made achieving diversity a policy goal in 2007.
